Life Close To The Arctic

At the request of Dina I create this post.
Most images are shown earlier.
The images are from many parts of Norway,
in different seasons.
Maybe they will entice you to a visit?
It’s unusual for me to to make a post with so many photos.
Please, be indulgent with me!

Twelve p.m. «Mont Reka»

This picture was taken at midnight. The midnightsun gives a sense of daylight. Reka (607 meter) is a mountain in Sortland, Vesterålen, Norway. Rock climbers  love this mountain. Photo taken at the last day of midnightsun in 2012.   –  (Klick on image to enlarge) –

The Pyramid

In a clear day, when the sun disappears, the blue gets fresher and contrast becomes clearer. This pyramid-like mountain appear in Vesterålen, Grytting by Sortland, «The Blue City».

The Weekend in B&W – «Icecoffee»

What do you do when the weather is bad? My nephew invited me to icecoffee at «Miscela Kaffebar» in Sortland.  He really likes icecoffee! This summer I think he has been drinking a lot of this kind of soft-drink!  And, it was good, – like a dessert. But still, I like my double espresso best!

Fiskemåke – Common Gull (Larus canus)

This is my mother’s «private domestic gull» Mr. Gia and his wife. My mother has just given him his «5 o’clock biscuit» and they really fancy it!

Tea time is over,  and sorry, nothing left for latecomers! You can read more about common gull HERE.

The Midnightsun – Sortland – Norway

Picture taken 23rd of July, the last day to see the midnightsun for this season (23rd of May to 23rd of July) at Sortland, Norway. But, as you can see, the clouds are covering the sun and that’s a pity! My contribution to «Ein Stück Himmel» – «Himmelsk» – «SkywatchFriday»
